Brian C. Ludlow has a doctorate degree from Brigham Young University with double emphasis in literacy and psychometrics. His specific areas of course instruction include foundations of American education, instructional design, program evaluation, student assessment and NCLB legislation, content area literacy, literacy foundations, teaching writing in elementary and middle school settings, social foundations of education, and literature in the classroom. His academic employment history includes assistant professor, graduate literacy & education generalist, director of graduate literacy programs at Bemidji State University, and teacher for 10 years– elementary, secondary and alternative programs. He has been a participating member of numerous education related organizations including the Minnesota Reading Association (past president Northlands Chapter), Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers, American Educational Research Association, Association of California School Administration, and International Reading Association (past president of Mary Jemison Council). He is currently a member of the Reading Endorsement Committee for the Utah State Office of Education, and serves as a member of the Southern Utah University-Iron County School District Partnership Board. His professional strengths include benchmarking, data collection & analyses, early assessment/diagnosis/intervention, closing the gap through equitable opportunities in education for disadvantaged populations, content area reading comprehension processes, and elements of literature frameworks.
